

Sensing Space, Ritual, & Economy
International Research Symposium 2026
27 – 28 April, 2026
As part of the second series of the Mini Course on Sensing Space, Ritual, & Economy (conducted online from March to April 2026), this international symposium invites academics, researchers, and practitioners to submit abstracts that explore the intersections of space, ritual, and economic life.
The symposium aims to provide a platform for presenting research, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, and deepening discussions initiated during the mini course. Selected participants will present their work in a structured panel format and engage in extended discussions with fellow scholars.
Eligibility
Open to academics, researchers, and practitioners working on issues related to space and ethnography.

We welcome submissions related to (but not limited to)

- Living Space: Everyday Practices and Spatial Inequalities
- Ritual and Embodied Practices
- Sacred Spaces and Religious Transformations
- Culture, Economy, and Local Livelihoods
- Mobility and Translocality
Submission Guidelines
- Abstract (max. 250 words)
- Language: Indonesian or English
- Include author bio (max. 150 characters) and contact information
- Format: PDF or DOCX
- Each applicant may submit one abstract

- Deadline for abstract submission: 1 April 2026
- Notification of Acceptance: 16 April 2026
- International Research Symposium: 27–28 April 2026
